Winter Storm Warning Issued for Eastern Idaho

A Major winter storm is expected to impact Eastern Idaho with 5-10 Inches of snow along with winds of 15-30mph and stronger.  This will cause white out conditions and drifting of snow which could close many local Highways and the interstate.

Today we received close to 5 inches and there was a large amount of Slide off’s.  There was so much in Bonneville County that Emergency officials asked the public to stay off the roads.  Road crews are having a hard time cleaning up the roads and with snow packed roads already the situation will only get worse.

This is a Dangerous situation.  With heavy amounts of snow predicted combined with 15-30mph winds we could see some major snow drifts that will no doubt cause road closures and problems through out the entire region.  Please bring a winter kit with you if you must travel.  Plan ahead so that you can allow more time to get to your destination and be prepared for very slippery roads.
